These illustrations show two classical illustration techniques:-

At top, a fully sectioned (130° section) cutaway, and below, a fully ghosted or phantom view where only certain parts of the subject have been shown. These techniques emphasise certain parts of the subject - in this case - the bulb, the reflector profile, the batteries, connectors and switch.
