Comments:
This was an extremely complex commission to undertake for Sony UK, and although very
time consuming, it was a technically challenging and thus a thoroughly enjoyable
project to work on. Every single part of the camera was to be illustrated, portrayed
in different styles and using varying techniques.
Description:
The 7.2 megapixel Cyber-shot P200 employs a Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar 3X optical zoom
lens, a large 2-inch LCD screen and other features and benefits typically found on
more full-sized cameras. The stylish and durable alloy body is only one inch thin,
comes in silver or red colour and takes vibrant digital photos, capturing colour
and detail not commonly found in such a compact camera.
Powered by Sony's Real Imaging Processor™ circuitry, it features extremely fast start-up
and shot-to-shot times, and puts extra speed and muscle behind automatic features
like auto focus and auto exposure. You’ll never have to worry about missing a shot
because the camera is always at the ready. Capture up to 5 shots (MP Fine) or as
many as 100 shots (VGA Standard) in continuous burst mode at 1.1 frames per second.
Fully Automatic, Program AE, 9 Scene and Manual exposure modes allow you to capture
the best pictures based on the shooting conditions and the photographer's experience
level. The Multi-Point auto focus system automatically selects one of five AF areas
to intelligently focus on the subject rather than the background. Shooting in dim
light is no problem, the built-in AF illuminator will help to get a positive focus
lock. Proper exposures are key for great pictures and the P200's light-metering system
evaluates the frame using 49 reference points. In the advanced exposure modes you
can choose the desired metering and focus mode for even more creative control.
Great still photos are just part of the picture. The P200 also captures and plays
back high resolution moving images with sound too. The MPEG-VX Fine mode allows you
to record MPEG video with 640x480 pixel resolution at 30 frames per second (when
using Memory Stick PRO compatible media.) Smaller resolution video capture is also
possible for e-mail attachments or for use on a web site.
Transferring images and movies to the host computer is fast and easy thanks to its
high-speed USB 2.0 data port that is "plug-n-play" with most modern operating systems.
The camera is PictBridge compatible and can be connected directly to any PictBridge
compliant photo printer without need of a computer. The P200 has power to spare and
lets you capture approximately 310 shots per charge with the included Lithium battery.
Optional accessories include the VAD-PHC lens adaptor which allows you to attach
wide- and tele-conversion lenses and filters. The Cyber-shot Station CSS-PHA lets
you view slideshows on a TV or transfer images to a PC while charging the camera's
battery.
