Western Digital's WD Caviar 7200 series RPM EIDE hard drives were state-of-the-art performance-wise when I originally made these illustrations back in 2003.

 

Description:

The drive illustrated achieved world-class areal densities and a wide range of drive capacities ideal for storing Internet downloads, music and video files. The Western Digital Caviar 7200 drives offered Ultra ATA/100 and Ultra ATA/66 interfaces, low seek times and up to 100 MBps data transfer rates, all of which add up to a fast data delivery system.

 

For data protection, Western Digital included Data Lifeguard, their exclusive combination of hardware features and software utilities. Data Lifeguard includes embedded features that guarded your data and software tools that made the installation, configuration and diagnostics simple and worry-free.

 

Speed, performance and reliability were the key features of the WD Caviar 7200 RPM series.
