What’s new?

Well, my artwork schedule now stretches well into 2012, so I am going to be a really busy for the foreseeable. Of course, I have built a lot of room into my schedule for other work, room to live, and time to work on my aero engine portfolio - one of my true passions.

The illustration shows the click-wheel assembly, exploded hard drive, and the main iPod controller circuit board.

The illustration shows a partially complete oblique assembly view of a fictitious 256GB Solid State Drive (SSD), that is used in place of a conventional Hard Disk Drive (HDD). However, the design although fictitious is based on sound design principles, and is part of a series of illustrations showing a range of such products.

These illustrations show the MAN Diesel 12K98MC-C Marine Diesel Engine, designed and manufactured by HSD Engine. It is capable of generating an output of 68,520kW with a rotary speed of 104rpm. In the latest container ship installations, it typically drives a six-bladed propeller to produce speeds of up to 25 knots. It also typically drives a 3,000kW Taiyo SIGW 135-18 alternator.
